Financial crisis Overdose - The Next Financial crisis

With the US raising their debt ceiling, are we in a global bail-out bubble that will eventually burst? This doc offers a fresh insight into the greatest economic crisis of our age: the one still awaiting us.

The financial storm that has rocked the world began brewing in the US when congress pushed the idea of home ownership for all, propping up those who couldn't make the down payments. When it all went wrong the government promised the biggest financial stimulus packages in history and gargantuan bailouts. But what crazed logic is that: propping up debt with more debt? "They're giving alcohol to a drunk: it just sets him up for a bigger hangover."

Famous Quotes - Sigmund Freud

Sigmund Freud (born Sigismund Šlomo Freud) (6 May 1856 – 23 September 1939) was an Austrian neurologist who became known as the founding father of psychoanalysis, he grew up in Vienna, Austria and became a doctor of psychiatry. He has also connection to Czech Republic, where he was born in 1856 in Příbor, Nový Jičín. Early in his career he was interested in hypnosis as a cure for hysteria, believing that the symptoms were directly related to repressed psychological trauma. He started the practice of "free association," an effort to reveal unconscious emotions, and increasingly emphasized sexual development as the basis for psychological tension. Freud worked briefly with Carl Jung, was a professor in Vienna and co-founded the Vienna Psychoanalytical Society and the International Psychoanalytic Association. In 1938 he left Austria for England to escape Hitler's government. Freud battled mouth cancer the last several years of his life, but continued to smoke cigars, his trademark.
Some Freud´s Quotes:
--> We are never so defenceless against suffering as when we love.

Being entirely honest with oneself is a good exercise.

From error to error one discovers the entire truth.

Analogies, it is true, decide nothing, but they can make one feel more at home.

Children are completely egoistic; they feel their needs intensely and strive ruthlessly to satisfy them.

He that has eyes to see and ears to hear may convince himself that no mortal can keep a secret. If his lips are silent, he chatters with his fingertips; betrayal oozes out of him at every pore.

How bold one gets when one is sure of being loved!

Illusions commend themselves to us because they save us pain and allow us to enjoy pleasure instead. We must therefore accept it without complaint when they sometimes collide with a bit of reality against which they are dashed to pieces.

In the small matters trust the mind, in the large ones the heart.

Look into the depths of your own soul and learn first to know yourself, then you will understand why this illness was bound to come upon you and perhaps you will thenceforth avoid falling ill.

Religion is an illusion and it derives its strength from the fact that it falls in with our instinctual desires.

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

What we call happiness in the strictest sense comes from the (preferably sudden) satisfaction of needs which have been dammed up to a high degree.

When inspiration does not come to me, I go halfway to meet it.

Yesterday I was very irritable; you should have been here so as to wish you weren't.

Online shopping is discreet, easy and fast. It’s no wonder shoppers are filling up virtual carts instead of visiting brick-and-mortar shops.
Shopping online allows us to skip the lines, crowds, travel expenses and the hassle of parking. A recent survey conducted by Lab42 — a market research company — found 66% of consumers prefer web retailers. Nearly half of the survey participants complete 73% of their shopping online.
Savvy shoppers are also turning to web and mobile stores for bargains. About 45 million smartphone owners access shopping-and-commerce apps each month.Lab42 produced the infographic below showcasing the findings from its online shopping survey. India´s richest starting to be poorer than 2010

India's richest are 20 pct poorer than 2010: Forbes
The country's 100 wealthiest individuals now worth a total of USD 241 bn, down from USD 300 bn in 2010

The combined wealth of India's richest people has fallen nearly 20 percent over the last year, due to factors including inflation, falling stocks and corruption, Forbes magazine said on Thursday. The business publication said the country's 100 wealthiest individuals were now worth a total of $241 billion, down from $300 billion in 2010, according to its India Rich List 2011. The number of billionaires on the list also fell from 69 to 57 in the same period, while the top 10 saw their combined wealth fall 25 percent from $150 billion to $113.6 billion.
"This has been a turbulent year for India's richest," Naazneen Karmali, the India editor of Forbes Asia, said.
"Despite the economy growing at close to eight percent, a spate of corruption scandals and rising inflation has taken a toll."

Massive corruption allegations, coupled with a downturn in the global economy and spiralling input costs, have affected demand and company earnings, as well as investor confidence on the stock markets.
Mukesh Ambani was India's richest man for the fourth year running, according to the Forbes list. The chairman of oil and gas conglomerate Reliance Industries had a net worth of $22.6 billion, down $4.4 billion from 2010.
British-based steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal was in second spot with a net worth of $19.2 billion -- a 26 percent fall from last year, as shares in his ArcelorMittal steelmaking firm plunged. Azim Premji, the head of India's third-largest software outsourcer Wipro, was in third with $13 billion, also down 26 percent.
The biggest name to be hit was Mukesh Ambani's younger brother, Anil, the chairman of the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, who slid out of the top 10 for the first time.
He saw his net worth more than halved from $13.3 billion in 2010 to $5.9 billion this year, amid falling investor confidence and a probe into whether his firms were involved in a large-scale telecoms fraud.

1. Mukesh Ambani (Reliance Industries Ltd) $22.6 billion
2. Lakshmi Mittal (ArcelorMittal) $19.2 billion
3. Azim Premji (Wipro) $13.0 billion
4. Shashi and Ravi Ruia (Essar Group) $10.2 billion
5. Savitri Jindal (O.P. Jindal Group) $9.5 billion
6. Sunil Mittal (Bharti Airtel) $8.8 billion
7. Gautam Adani (Adani Group) $8.2 billion
8. Kumar Birla (Aditya Birla Group) $7.7 billion
9. Pallonji Mistry (Shapoorji Pallonji Group/Tata Group) $7.6 billion
10. Adi Godrej (Godrej Group) $6.8 billion

  24. Turkmenistan
  25. Honduras
  26. Serbia
What makes economies grow?
Clearly, this is a question Western policymakers are grappling with right now. If we step away from the cyclicality, there are two ways economies can grow; either add more people to the production line via growth in the working population, or make each individual more productive.

What else is important ?
OPEN THE EYES ... AND ...

Yeah we need Education - Democracy - and we need more better attitude

The most potent recipe for growth is a country that scores highly on the fundamentals discussed but currently has low income per capita. These economies should deliver the highest growth in income per capita as they ‘catch up’ with those with similar fundamentals. Economies with poor governance and low education will remain stuck in this low-income trap. This has been the position a number of African nations have found themselves in for so long.

Developed world
Countries in the developed world might be considered to be at the technology ‘frontier’. With income per capita already high, these economies do not get any ‘catch up’ boost so rely on the other variables in the model (education, rule of law, etc) for technological progress to deliver further gains in individual prosperity. That said, there are still large variations across the developed world with real income per capita in Portugal at just over USD11.5k compared with USD37k in the US. Those with similar economic infrastructure to the US but with lower income per capita will therefore get a ‘catch up’ boost. This explains why the model provides higher income per capita forecasts for the likes of Spain and Greece, which may seem implausible given their current difficulties.

Hungry children, hunger and malnutrition in India

Hungry children, hunger and malnutrition in India
Hungry children, hunger and malnutrition in India

INDIA, Real problem named: The Republic Of Hunger

All stories has two parts, in one is the "success" on the way which is promote all over the world and by all media, but the second part of the story is what is behind the wall. I remember when I was first time arrived in New Delhi, it was in October 2011, in that day was promote new SKODA Rapid for India market, anyway when I travel by TAXI to center, I was shocked, nice, clean streets, really nice look, I said myself, yeah GOOD JOB guys, the journey to center is surrounded by some walls higher lower, but walls was there ... Yes, and behind this walls I saw another face of "growing India", like in Mumbai slams, hunger like in other bigger cities in India, which I visited... So, even government is support almost 63% by subsidized rice, and other stuff, for APL and BPL - you can see my article Socialist OR Social India X Exercise OR Steroids, it is not enough because usually all this shops are corrupted and cheat and resale this subsidized food in normal markets, so these who need it real not all of them are satisfied. So, I want to just have a look also on this other side of the coin of India economy ... Yes it is development of the social part and economy part, BUT . . .

About 320 million Indians go to bed without food every night, and recent data suggests this already alarming situation is getting worse. Despite the magnitude and intensity of this problem, it remains on the margins of policy planning, public action, intellectual discourse, and media coverage, writes Ammu Joseph.

"When India achieved independence, more than 50 years ago, the people of the country were much afflicted by endemic hunger. They still are. Since India is often considered to be one of the great success stories in tackling the food problem, the belief in success has to be scrutinised in the light of the grim reality that we can observe."

Amartya Sen, speaking on Hunger in India at a public hearing on the Right to Food
New Delhi, 10 January 2003

The recent reported increase in the number of Indians suffering from hunger and undernourishment is alarming, especially since the first National Family Health Survey (1992-93) had revealed that India was already one of the most undernourished countries in the world.

Biggest strike in INDIA over 100 millions

28th February 2012 was presented as a one of the world´s largest biggest strike which began on Monday 27th Feb and ended on 28th Feb. They were talking about 100.000.000 Indian workers will be strike ! As usually the strike was taken mainly as a holiday and people were happy that they don´t have to go to WORK and work. And of course another main point was that it was use as a political meetings and trade unions meetings and in fact only ONE RESULT it brings, big damage and losses of India in a croes of rupees, because as everybody KNOW, with strikes you will never WIN. This is the worst way how to say and explain opinion and another ideas...The dialogue and results is hard work... But who is in India he can see what kind of people going with flags and prefer strikes and meetings instead of building strong economy, better future for their children, or use their work as an instrument of showing some results. Yeah, WORK is hard and AGAIN I am saying that EURO model of ideology "SOMETHING FOR NOTHING" is not working NEVER . . . Why ? Because something for nothing is not the right way and as you know " NO HONEY, NO MONEY", so workers have to work, businessmen have to do business and give the work and politics . . . I think they have to go to ... Some of them to jail directly and some of them have to start work with some results . . . GLOBALLY ... ALL this what I am talking is globally point of view not only on India, I am just showing some European mistakes, and sometimes is very good to have a look in the mirror . . . So what you see there ? That´s true. So, many words, but even one result. Instead of words show exact results ! Because ONLY RESULTS SHOW what´s real and what is fake ... As in Latin language says "Dum spiero spero".

Civil aviation prospect for FDI ? Kingfisher, Jet, SpiceJet...?

Mohan Q ? : Is Indian Civil aviation a viable prospect for Foriegn Equity participation?

Dear Mohan, as you are working in this field you are more professional than me. Generally my private opinion is that even increase ideas from 26% on 49%, it is still minority for FDI. The Civil Aviation Ministry has recommended 49% FDI in aviation - February 2012. So who knows. Anyway Aviation stock jump after this FDI increasing information. Stocks of Jet Airways and Kingfisher traded nearly 2.5 percent higher in opening session, it was during the Dec 2011. Now as we can see is Feb 2012 and Ministry starting "thinking" about 49%. So it means, that FDI is require. But international airlines don´t has a so much interest in low profit in domestic airlines. You know how is the situation globally with international airlines. So in my opinion FDI is not interesting in domestic airlines. Most of the new FDI will be used for old "things" and mainly bank loans, some revitalization action, but where will be the profit, how can be reach interesting ROI % ? I don´t think so. Maybe some new technology, or some New or Renovate Airport BOT (build-operate-transfer), PPP. You know how it is with Kingfisher Airlines, SpiceJet, and heroic Jet. Kingfisher in Nov 2011 has suffered a loss of Rs.1027 crores ($200 million) in the past fiscal year, adding to its mounting debt. Time seems to be running out NOT only for Kingfisher Airlines. Fuel, Tax, Employee, etc. I remember in Europe some bankruptcy like lowcost airlines SkyEurope (2010) from Bratislava, Slovakia and others. Some Airlines need help from local Goverments like Alitalia, etc. But it was 2009 - 2010. Now here in India is 2012. So hope India will be O.K. also in this sector. All the best to you.
